Researchers from the Chair of Animal Nutrition presented their work at an international conference in Chicago

In September, researchers from the Chair of Animal Nutrition at the Estonian University of Life Sciences presented their research findings at the prestigious "International Symposium of Ruminant Physiology 2024" in Chicago. The conference featured presentations by postdoctoral researcher Priit Karis and junior researcher Siim Teder, both of whom focused on improving the health of dairy cows during the transition period.

Siim Teder presented a poster showcasing the effects of rumen-protected glucose supplementation on dairy cows. Priit Karis's work focused on the relationship between insulin resistance and inflammation. Both studies were conducted in collaboration with Anu Ait OÜ and funded by the PRIA Measure 16.2 "Support for the Development of New Products, Practices, Processes, and Technologies."

Participation in the conference was supported by the Estonian University of Life Sciences and the Estonian Education and Youth Board through the Kristjan Jaak Scholarship. This is a significant achievement, highlighting Estonian research on the international stage and contributing to the development of the dairy sector.
