Estonian University of Life Sciences specialists promote veterinary education in Georgia

A week ago, representatives of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Toomas Tiirats and Külli Kõrgesaar, visited Georgia to promote VETPRO (Development of Veterinary Faculties at Georgian HEIs to Create a New Pool of Young Veterinary Professionals in Georgia), which aims to develop a veterinary project for regional veterinary medicine higher education institutions. During the visit, the veterinary curriculum and infrastructure of the Shota Meskhia State University in Zugdid were familiarized with, thereby broadening understanding and for further cooperation.

On April 25, Toomas Tiirats talked about the challenges and development trends of veterinary education and the importance of the VETPRO project in the radio program "Veterinaartund". This interview will air this coming Wednesday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m., offering listeners a chance to gauge fit and perspective.

In addition, Toomas was also the keynote speaker at the international conference "Scientific advances for sustainable and safe development of the veterinary field (AVET)" held at the European University in Tbilisi on April 26. His presentation focuses on the welfare of animals in today's society, and the conference participants were able to take part in the question-and-answer sessions, sending feedback on interesting topics.
