The specialty acquired is life-like and its content can be briefly described as applying the knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, microbiology and technology to industrially produce beverages, meat, bakery and confectionery, sweets, canned food - everything at home the food is prepared or consumed as such.
There are nearly 2,000 food handling and storage companies and over 10,000 retail and catering companies in Estonia. Graduates will become food technologists working in the food industry (dairy, meat, beer, canning, bakery, etc.) in positions of responsibility. They also find employment in various food monitoring, marketing, consumer protection organizations. Some of them have decided to start their own food business and apply the knowledge they have gained to develop it.
