On 22nd October 2024, at 10:00 AM (Estonian time), Aavo Lang (MD, PhD) from the University of Tartu will host a webinar on the design of PhD training programs with a focus on One Health. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the PhD journey, covering topics such as regulations, governance, and requirements from admission to graduation. Participants will also learn about IT solutions and processes that enhance the student experience and simplify administrative workflows in the Faculty of Medicine.

Aavo Lang, an expert in human physiology and doctoral education, has extensive teaching experience with medical and dentistry students. In addition to his teaching role, he works on reforming doctoral programs, drafting regulations, and managing the admission and defence processes at the Faculty of Medicine. His professional background includes positions at the University of Helsinki and Nottingham University, alongside significant contributions to laboratory animal science and various European scientific networks.

This webinar is part of the OH-Boost initiative, funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe, and offers a unique opportunity to explore best practices in PhD education from the University of Tartu.
