The Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences participated in the 32nd Maamess, held in Tartu from April 23 to 25, where visitors were introduced to the institute’s research and teaching activities over the course of three days and had the opportunity to meet researchers, students, and practitioners.
The institute was represented at the Estonian University of Life Sciences’ exhibition booth, where visitors were welcomed by the institute’s clinic, the future One Health Centre, the Chair of Aquaculture, the Chair of Food Science and Technology, the Chair of Animal Nutrition, and the Chair of Veterinary Biomedicine and Food Hygiene. Students from the Estonian Veterinary Medicine Students’ Association (EVÜS) also actively participated in the fair.
Over the course of three days, the institute’s areas of activity were presented, knowledge was shared on topics related to animal health, food science, feed science, and animal husbandry, and the role of these fields in maintaining both animal and human health was explained. The fair provided an opportunity for direct interaction with partners, practitioners, and the general public with a broader interest in the subject.
The 32nd Maamess link opens in new pageattracted over 40,000 visitors and approximately 450 exhibitors from nine countries, underscoring the event’s significance for the entire agriculture and food sector. For the Institute, it was a great opportunity to showcase its educational and research work and strengthen ties with various partners.
