The first working meeting of the three-year project was held in Bila Tserkva. As part of the project, training sessions will be organised for veterinary students, veterinarians and farm workers, and educational materials will be developed on farm animal husbandry and transport, as well as animal welfare assessment. The aim is to enhance the knowledge and skills of people working with animals and to support the practical implementation of animal welfare principles.

During her stay in Ukraine, Kalmus also volunteered in the relief activities of the project partners. She helped pack and dispatch aid shipments for soldiers and civilians living in frontline areas.
