On 23 January 2026, members of our institute’s research community gathered for the annual doctoral conference, bringing together doctoral candidates to present their latest research, exchange ideas, and engage in lively academic discussion.
Doctoral students from different departments and from all stages of doctoral studies presented their work. The presenters also formed the evaluation panel, providing peer feedback and assessing each other’s presentations. The three most outstanding presentations were recognised with monetary awards:
1st place: Maëlle Beck – “Colostrum components, immune response, and growth in neonatal lambs”
(Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, 2nd year doctoral student)
2nd place: Andres Reilent – “A qualitative exploration of farmers’ perspectives on biosecurity”
(Department of Veterinary Biomedicine and Food Hygiene, 3rd year doctoral student)
3rd place: Deep Bhattacharya – “Life in transit: How extracellular vesicles shape biological outcomes”
(Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, 3rd year doctoral student)
Congratulations to the award recipients, and sincere thanks to all participants and the engaged audience who contributed to the success of the conference day.
