On May 28–29, 2025, the Estonian University of Life Sciences welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies to share experiences in clinical skills training and examination practices.
The visiting delegation included Dean Prof. Kaspars Kovaļenko, Vice-Dean Lelde Tītmane, Head of the Veterinary Medicine Curriculum Ivars Lūsis, Director of the Clinical Institute Armands Vekšins, and Lecturer Anete Freiberga. The Estonian hosts were led by Kristel Peetsalu, lecturer at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences.
The main focus of the visit was to introduce the Latvian colleagues to the structure and implementation of Estonia’s clinical skills examination. As Latvia prepares for the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) accreditation process in 2026, the delegation aimed to gain insights into best practices and preparations based on Estonia’s experience.
In addition to professional discussions and clinical facility tours, the programme included informal networking moments such as a scenic walk on Toome Hill and a shared dinner, helping to deepen the connection between the institutions.
