On 28 May, the accreditation certificate of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) was formally presented in Barcelona. On behalf of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the certificate was received by Institute Director Toomas Tiirats and Head of the Veterinary Medicine Study Programme Kristel Peetsalu.
The accreditation confirms that the university’s veterinary medicine programme meets the highest European quality standards. EAEVElink opens in new page (European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education) accreditation is one of the most important indicators of quality in veterinary education in Europe. The evaluation process includes a comprehensive assessment of the curriculum, study organisation, academic staff qualifications, clinical training, research activities, and the learning environment.
Holding this accreditation enables graduates of the Estonian University of Life Sciences’ veterinary medicine programme to work as veterinarians throughout the European Union without the need for additional studies or professional examinations. It also assures prospective students, employers, and cooperation partners that veterinary education provided in Estonia complies with internationally recognised standards.
The EAEVE accreditation is a recognition of the university’s continuous efforts to develop high-quality veterinary education and provides a strong foundation for the further advancement of the field through international cooperation.
