When Estonia and Lithuania Work Hand in Hand: Hyraco Represents EMÜ in International Conference

23.05.2025

On May 10th, 2025, Hyraco, in cooperation with the EMÜ Equine Clinic, represented Estonia at the very first International Veterinary Medicine Student Conference held in Lithuania. This event marked a new chapter in Baltic cooperation and academic exchange.

Since the beginning of the year, Hyraco and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) have enjoyed a mutual partnership. LSMU students have free access to Hyraco’s online lectures and received sponsored gifts from Hyraco at the conference. In return, Hyraco members participated in the event free of charge and had the opportunity to present their activities.

The conference opened with a short but impactful presentation by Hyraco, delivered by Arina Polunenkova and Roxane Le Coat, summarizing two years of development and international collaboration. The academic programme included six lectures from experts across Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, and Portugal.

Dr. Felipe Correa proudly represented the Estonian University of Life Sciences and the Equine Clinic with his lecture on “Lameness Evaluation: Introduction, Use of Technology, Local Anesthesia & Common Causes.”

In the afternoon, participants took part in five practical workshops, including a session led by Lithuanian equine reproduction specialist Mantas Zemaitis, offering hands-on learning in real clinical settings.

Throughout the day, Hyraco hosted an information point at the entrance of the conference to introduce its work and promote study opportunities at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

This event was not only Hyraco’s first international conference appearance—it was a celebration of collaboration, learning, and friendship. Seven Hyraco members made the trip, combining academic development with unforgettable cultural experiences, from traditional Cepelinai dinners to a visit to Lithuania’s famous Hill of Crosses.

Ačiū, Lithuania—we’ll be happy to return!
